Soccer Game Preview: Jacksonville vs. Anna

The Jacksonville Fightin' Indians will face off against the Anna Coyotes at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Jacksonville is headed into the game having not lost since January 11 and will look to keep things rolling. They never let Cedar Hill get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory on Monday. Given the Fightin' Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 58th, while the Longhorns are ranked 419th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last matchup, Anna made sure to put some goals up on the board against Denison on Tuesday. They blew past the Yellow Jackets 8-0. It was an even better day for Isabelle Lopez as she scored three goals for her team.

Jacksonville pushed their record up to 20-1-3 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those nine contests. As for Anna, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-8-1 record this season.
