Basketball Game Preview: Castle View Sabercats vs. Ponderosa Mustangs

Castle View is on a five-game streak of home losses, Ponderosa a five-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Saturday. The Castle View Sabercats will host the Ponderosa Mustangs at 11:30 a.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Last Tuesday, Castle View had to suffer through a 56-20 loss at the hands of Regis Jesuit. While losing is never fun, the Sabercats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 143rd, while the Raiders are ranked 11th).

Meanwhile, Ponderosa was beaten by ThunderRidge 48-20 on Tuesday.

Castle View's defeat dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Ponderosa, their loss dropped their record down to 3-15.

Everything came up roses for Castle View against Ponderosa when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as the team secured a 72-32 win. In that contest, Castle View amassed a halftime lead of 42-19, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Saturday.
