Softball Recap: Ocean City Comes Up Short

Ocean City fell victim to Vineland and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 10-0 to the Fighting Clan. The defeat continues a trend for the Raiders in their meetings with the Fighting Clan: they've now lost seven in a row.

Ocean City saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brooke Douglas, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.

Ocean City's loss dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Vineland, their victory was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-1.

Ocean City and Vineland should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings. The Raiders (ranked 32nd) will meet Holy Spirit (ranked 105th) at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Vineland will face off against Cedar Creek at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (9 vs. 172).
