Softball Recap: Stanton Has No Trouble Against Parker

Stanton got themselves on the board against Parker on Thursday, but Parker never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Braves. The victory continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their matchups with the Braves: they've now won three in a row.

Leah Joseph made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Maddie Hicks was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Evie Moore, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

Stanton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .690. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Stanton pushed their record up to 10-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for Parker, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stanton will venture away from home to face off against ED White at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Parker, they will head out to take on Englewood at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Braves are facing the Rams at the right time seeing as the Rams are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
