Basketball Recap: Ahmad Mullahkhel's Big Game Can't Quite Lead West Jordan over Juan Diego Catholic

West Jordan lost against Juan Diego Catholic back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Jaguars came up short against the Soaring Eagle, falling 70-49. The matchup was a 29-29 toss-up at halftime, but the Jaguars couldn't quite close it out.

Several Jaguars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ahmad Mullahkhel, who posted six points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooks Halterman, who earned nine points.

Deng Deng was a one-man wrecking crew For Juan Diego Catholic. as he dropped a triple-double with 22 points, 13 boards, and ten blocks. Another player making a difference was Sam Vansice, who went 5-for-10 to rack up 15 points and three steals.

This is the second loss in a row for West Jordan and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, West Jordan will square off against Northridge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Juan Diego Catholic, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 69-41 victory against Ben Lomond on the 22nd.
