Baseball Recap: Greenup County Comes Up Short

Greenup County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 13-4 to the Scott County Cardinals. The Musketeers were not able to make up for their loss to the Cardinals from their previous meeting back in May of 2017.

Greenup County saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ty Logan, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Hunter Holbrook also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Greenup County now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Scott County, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.

Greenup County will head out to square off against DeSales at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday. The last four games DeSales has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Scott County, they will square off against Chicago Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chicago Christian will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Scott County surely won't give up without a fight.
