Flag Football Recap: San Gorgonio Gets the Win

While San Gorgonio's victory against Jurupa Hills wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. San Gorgonio slipped by Jurupa Hills 7-6 on Tuesday. San Gorgonio hasn't had any issues with Jurupa Hills recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

A big part of San Gorgonio's victory came down to the chemistry between Izel Frias and her top target Angelina Garcia. Frias threw for 126 yards and one touchdown while Garcia picked up 66 receiving yards and one score. What's more, Frias racked up 44 rushing yards, the most she's had since back in August.

San Gorgonio didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Jurupa Hills to a completion percentage of just 48.6%. The team can thank Ava Bogarin for the heroic effort on defense: she. San Gorgonio wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 58.1%.

San Gorgonio's defense didn't let Emelie Castrejon., get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for four sacks. Leah Gonzalez was especially locked on to Jurupa Hills' QB and sacked her three times. Nicolle McNally was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, making three total tackles, and defending one pass in addition to snagging an interception.

San Gorgonio's record now sits at 8-10. As for Jurupa Hills, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-4.

San Gorgonio wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 26-6 win against Arroyo Valley on the 23rd. As for Jurupa Hills, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 38-7 victory against Rim of the World on the 23rd.
