Baseball Recap: East Providence Townies vs. Cranston East Thunderbolts
East Providence barely beat Cranston East the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Townies put the hurt on the Thunderbolts with a sharp 10-3 victory on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Townies in their matchups with the Thunderbolts: they've now won four in a row.
Kyle Desrosiers and Timothy Robitaille were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Desrosiers struck out ten batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Robitaille struck out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. At bat, Desrosiers went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Robitaille got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
