Baseball Recap: East Providence Has No Trouble Against Cranston East

East Providence barely beat Cranston East the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Townies put the hurt on the Thunderbolts with a sharp 10-3 victory on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Townies in their matchups with the Thunderbolts: they've now won four in a row.

Kyle Desrosiers and Timothy Robitaille were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Desrosiers struck out ten batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Robitaille struck out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. At bat, Desrosiers went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Robitaille got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs Robitaille has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Max Correiro was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Dicecco, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

East Providence's record is now 7-2. As for Cranston East, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
