Softball Game Preview: Central City Value Jaguars vs. Discovery Warriors

The Central City Value Jaguars will venture away from home to square off against the Discovery Warriors at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

It was a proper cat-fight when Central City Value took on Camino Nuevo Dalzell Lance Campus on Thursday. Central City Value put the hurt on Camino Nuevo Dalzell Lance Campus with a sharp 12-2 victory. The win continues a trend for the Jaguars in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Discovery). Everything went their way against Valley Oaks CES on Thursday as Discovery made off with a 27-2 victory.

Discovery got a massive performance out of Ambert Robert, who scored four runs while going 6-for-6. With that strong performance, Robert is now averaging an impressive 3.2 hits per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Britany Arellano, who scored five runs while going 4-for-6.

Discovery was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .595. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matches.

The win got Discovery back to even at 2-2. As for Central City Value, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Everything went Central City Value's way against Discovery in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Central City Value made off with a 26-12 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Central City Value since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
