Basketball Game Preview: Olympian Eagles vs. Valhalla Norsemen

Olympian is 3-0 against Valhalla since January of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Olympian Eagles will challenge the Valhalla Norsemen at 6:00 p.m. Olympian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64.5 points per game this season.

Last Saturday, Olympian beat Madison 53-44. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 54th, while the Warhawks are ranked 253rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Olympian found their leader in sophomore Tristan Anderson, who went 11 of 17 on his way to 26 points and eight steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Anderson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Yaseen Chemsi, who posted two points and ten rebounds.

Meanwhile, Valhalla was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 62-33 loss at the hands of Madison.

The victory made it two in a row for Olympian and bumps their season record up to 12-2. As for Valhalla, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.

Olympian beat Valhalla 70-58 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Olympian since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
