North Central II/Bay Football recap September 17, 2013

Upper Lake took down Clear Lake 56-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.

The Cougars led North Central II/Bay Football in scoring this week after putting up 56 points on the Cardinals.

Orion Harrell and Max Caldera gave Calistoga a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week. Harrell threw for 143 yards and 3 touchdowns, while Caldera ran for 109 yards. Teammate Dylan Alvarado added to the ground attack by rushing for 54 yards.

Harrell put up the best numbers in passing as Calistoga defeated Swett. Harrell's favorite target this week was Danny Alfaro, who caught 3 passes for 71 yards.

Derek Murphy was the best receiver in the league this week as St. Vincent de Paul lost to St. Helena. Murphy racked up 6 receptions for 77 yards.

Caldera was the most successful running back in the league this week.

He was 8-12 with 0 interceptions.

5-foot-10 quarterback Jack Richardson of the Mustangs is the league leader in passing yards this season with 273. He has also thrown 2 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Alfaro. The Calistoga star has 10 catches for 189 yards.

Two of the top teams in North Central II/Bay Football will go toe-to-toe this week when Paul Harrell's team takes on California School for the Deaf. The Wildcats' offense has scored 120 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while the Eagles have allowed only 16 on the year.

An important game coming up in the league this week will be when California School for the Deaf takes on Calistoga. As it stands, Warren Keller's team is in sixth, while the Wildcats are in first.

Tomales made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 11,214 from 11,651. The improvement came about via a 42-0 victory over Marshall last week.
