Basketball Recap: Brackenridge Now 6-2 over Last Eight Games

If Lanier wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Brackenridge, they should've done a better job of containing Ashlynn Cortinas. The Brackenridge Eagles claimed a resounding 63-25 win over the Lanier Voks thanks in part to Cortinas, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last six games she's played.

Brackenridge has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 14-13 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.4 points per game. As for Lanier, they dropped their record down to 2-24 with the loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Brackenridge wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 62-35 victory against Jefferson on the 7th. As for Lanier, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 46-36 defeat against Sam Houston on the 7th.
