Softball Recap: Monday's Win Is Bristol Eastern's Seventh in Last Nine Outings

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Bristol Eastern walked away with it. They walked away with a 6-2 win over the East Haven Yellowjackets on Monday. That's more bragging rights for the Lancers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Hailey Beebe spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bristol Eastern got a massive performance out of Emily Valentine, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracie Brown, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Bristol Eastern is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. As for East Haven, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-11.

Looking ahead, Bristol Eastern will challenge Brookfield on Wednesday. East Haven does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
