Basketball Recap: Mountainside Takes a Loss

Mountainside entered their game against Jesuit on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Mountainside Mavericks lost 65-39 to the Jesuit Crusaders. The Mavericks were not able to make up for their defeat to the Crusaders from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Mountainside's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-9. As for Jesuit, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-8.

Mountainside and Jesuit should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Oregon Rankings. Mountainside (ranked 50th) will meet Aloha (ranked 226th) at 7:00 p.m. on January 28th. Mountainside will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Meanwhile, Jesuit will challenge Sunset at 7:00 p.m. on Friday up 53 places (18 vs. 71).
