South Aiken is a perfect 10-0 against Midland Valley since March of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Thoroughbreds will face off against the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

South Aiken managed to keep up with Gray Collegiate Academy until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Thoroughbreds came up short against the War Eagles, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, South Aiken can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while Gray Collegiate Academy are ranked ninth).

Meanwhile, Midland Valley came up short against Brookland-Cayce on Wednesday and fell 3-1. The defeat continues a trend for Midland Valley in their meetings with Brookland-Cayce: they've now lost seven in a row.

Midland Valley's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for South Aiken, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4-2.

South Aiken took their victory against Midland Valley in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 5-0 score. Will the Thoroughbreds repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
