Crane had lost six games straight , but after bumping their record up to 2-6 on Wednesday that streak is in the rearview. They won by a run and slipped past the Hurley Tigers 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Pirates have posted since April 22, 2024.

As for Hurley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games.

For Hurley's part, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Dunn, who went 1-for-4 with one run.
