Meanwhile, La Porte unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 30-18 hit to the loss column at the hands of Friendswood.

La Porte's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 22-9. As for Texas City, their loss dropped their record down to 4-18.
