Basketball Recap: Damien Bostic's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Northern Durham over East Chapel Hill

Northern Durham was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They took a 78-64 bruising from the East Chapel Hill Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 70-58 last Monday.

Northern Durham lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Damien Bostic, who went 6-for-12 en route to 16 points in addition to six boards and three steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Camden Riley was another key player, going 7-for-12 on his way to 17 points.

East Chapel Hill had a senior duo take command as Bennett Corley went 10-for-18 to rack up 26 points and Makai Rhodes almost dropped a double-double with 19 points and nine rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, Corley now owns an excellent 45.4% field goal percentage. Another player making a difference was Chase Hunter, who posted nine points.

Northern Durham's loss dropped their record down to 5-14. As for East Chapel Hill, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-12.

Northern Durham wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 85-45 defeat against Jordan on the 3rd. As for East Chapel Hill, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 66-61 loss against Riverside-Durham on the 3rd.
