Baseball Recap: Avery County Comes Up Short

After soaring to 13 runs the game before, Avery County was a bit more limited in their match on Wednesday. They lost 12-1 to the Owen Warhorses. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warhorses this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 20-9 back in March.

Avery County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Oak Markland, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Avery County's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Owen, their victory ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-13.

Looking ahead, Avery County will square off against Patton at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Vikings are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Owen, they have already played their next contest, an 11-6 defeat against Mitchell on the 11th.
