Volleyball Preview: Skidding Swain County Meets Murphy

The Swain County Maroon Devils will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Murphy Bulldogs at 6:15 p.m. Swain County is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.

Swain County lost 3-0 to Andrews on Tuesday.

Swain County took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final set scores came out to 25-16, 25-20, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Murphy got the win against Hiwassee Dam on Tuesday by a conclusive 3-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Murphy took every set by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final set scores wound up at 25-14, 25-13, 25-10.

Swain County has now lost five of their last six games on the road. That leaves them at a 3-7 record this season. As for Murphy, the win improved their record to 7-2.
