Softball Recap: Wesclin Comes Up Short

Wesclin extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 5-11 in the process. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Okawville Rockets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rockets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-2 on Tuesday.

Wesclin saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chloe Nordmann, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

As for Okawville, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-6. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games.

On Okawville's side, not much got past Schae Juenger, who gave up just four hits to keep Wesclin off the board. Juenger has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

Wesclin and Okawville could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Warriors will face off against Red Bud at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (358 vs. 142). Meanwhile, Okawville (ranked 242nd) will meet Waltonville (ranked 119th) at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
