Classical and Coventry are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2022, but not for long. The Purple will be playing at home against the Oakers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Coventry took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Classical, who comes in off a win.

On Tuesday, Classical made easy work of Barrington and carried off a 3-0 victory.

Classical not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Barrington between 15 and 17 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-15, 25-16.

Meanwhile, Coventry faced North Kingstown in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Oakers came up short against the Skippers, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Oakers in their meetings with the Skippers: they've now lost eight in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-12, 25-21.

Coventry's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Classical, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Everything went Classical's way against Coventry in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Classical made off with a 3-0 win. Will the Purple repeat their success, or do the Oakers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
