Softball Recap: Providence Athletic Club Victorious

Providence Athletic Club's tournament run continued when they took on Fairfax HomeSchool on Wednesday. The Panthers came out on top against the Hawks by a score of 5-2.

Atalie Gauntt was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, earning one run and two stolen bases.

In other batting news, Abigail Gibbs was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double. Kenslee Wessinger was another key player, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Providence Athletic Club's record is now 20-2. As for Fairfax HomeSchool, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-3 record this season.

Providence Athletic Club didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 13-0 victory against Tournament Opponent on the 7th. Hopefully Fairfax HomeSchool paid attention to the Panthers' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Panthers at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday.
