Basketball Game Preview: Evans Eagles vs. Simpson Broncos

The Evans Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the Simpson Broncos at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Evans duked it out withZwolle on Tuesday. Evans fell to Zwolle 62-57. The Eagles have struggled against the Hawks recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Simpson came tearing into Tuesday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took their match with ease, bagging a 58-18 victory over the Bulldogs. The Broncos have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 18 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Simpson pushed their record up to 34-2 with the win, which was their 28th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Evans, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-19.

Evans came up short against Simpson in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 58-46. Can Evans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
