Basketball Recap: Eddie Harmon Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Miami-Yoder

Pikes Peak Christian was handed a heart-breaking two-point loss in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Miami-Yoder on Saturday. The Pikes Peak Christian Eagles blew past the Miami-Yoder Buffaloes 70-50. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 20 points or more this season.

Pikes Peak Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Eddie Harmon, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 13 rebounds. Harmon is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 22 games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Matthew Crocfer, who went 7 of 9 en route to 15 points and three steals.

Despite the loss, Miami-Yoder still got an impressive performance from Gavin Howard, who posted 17 points along with six boards and four steals. Howard continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Caleb Bernhart was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Pikes Peak Christian's record is now 5-3. As for Miami-Yoder, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-3.

Pikes Peak Christian will be playing at home against Fountain Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Miami-Yoder, they will venture away from home to challenge Cotopaxi at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cotopaxi will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Miami-Yoder surely won't give up without a fight.
