Baseball Recap: East Feliciana Comes Up Short

Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Friday. East Feliciana came up short against Independence, falling 20-2. East Feliciana hasn't had much luck with Independence recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

East Feliciana saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ke'Marion Matthews, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-1. Matthews is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Another was John Goudeau, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

East Feliciana's loss dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Independence, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-11.

Looking ahead, East Feliciana will be playing in front of their home fans against Family Christian at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Flames have averaged an impressive 10.2 runs per game this season. As for Independence, they will challenge Loranger at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Wolves' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
