The San Antonio Christian Lions will challenge the Saint Mary's Hall Barons at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Saint Mary's Hall took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on San Antonio Christian, who comes in off a win.
San Antonio Christian is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on St. Augustine with a sharp 13-4 win on Tuesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Lions as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Caleb Young spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up eight Ks. He has become a key player for San Antonio Christian: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least eight strikeouts, but 2-10 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Spenser Hansen was incredible, going 3-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of San Antonio Christian's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 3-10 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Nolan Amerman, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5.
Hansen wasn't the only one making solid contact: San Antonio Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.
Meanwhile, Saint Mary's Hall was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of St. Augustine.
Saint Mary's Hall saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brody Potter, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2. Ian Choisne also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Saint Mary's Hall's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for San Antonio Christian, their win bumped their record up to 5-11.
San Antonio Christian came out on top in a nail-biter against Saint Mary's Hall when the teams last played two weeks ago, sneaking past 4-2. Do the Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Barons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
