Gustavo Lopez leads Sylmar to victory over Kennedy

Recap: Sylmar Spartans vs. Kennedy Cougars
The Sylmar Spartans entered their tilt with the Kennedy Cougars with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Sylmar took down Kennedy 66-48 on Friday. This was payback for Sylmar, who suffered a 60-49 defeat the last time these two teams met.
It was another big night for Gustavo Lopez, who went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 30 points and 1 assists. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriel Sidon, who scored 12 points.
Sylmar's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Kennedy, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Sylmar will be home for the holidays to greet Westlake at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Westlake knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 12 matchups -- so hopefully Sylmar likes a good challenge. Kennedy and Pacifica will face off at 6:30 p.m. on December 20th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Pacifica is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
