Soccer Game Preview: Lancaster Mennonite vs. York Catholic

The Lancaster Mennonite Blazers are taking a road trip to face off against the York Catholic Fighting Irish at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Lancaster Mennonite's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Lancaster Mennonite took a loss when they played away from home last Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They never let West Shore Christian Academy get on the board and left with a 1-0 win.

Meanwhile, York Catholic made easy work of High Point Baptist Academy on Wednesday and carried off a 3-0 victory. The result was nothing new for York Catholic, who have now won 12 contests by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit High Point Baptist Academy with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Kobin Proudfoot, Cort Dobe, and Jonathan Baker.

Lancaster Mennonite's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three matches. As for York Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 19-1-1.
