Softball Recap: Frontier Regional Find Success

Frontier Regional won the last time they faced Monument Mountain and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Red Hawks came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 8-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Red Hawks.

Raine Wonsey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ashley Taylor, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Liv Machon, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Frontier Regional's win bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Monument Mountain, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-5.

As of now, neither Frontier Regional nor the Spartans have any future games scheduled.
