Lisle hadn't done well against Herscher recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Lions sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Tigers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

Lisle had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-23, 25-17.

Lisle found their leader in sophomore Lilliana Rocha, who had 12 digs and three assists.

Lisle was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That's the most aces they've posted in their last five matches.

Lisle's win bumped their record up to 16-17. As for Herscher, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-26 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Lisle is set to square off against their familiar foe Reed-Custer at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Herscher will face off against rival Peotone at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
