Baseball Recap: Shady Side Academy Takes a Loss

Shady Side Academy suffered their biggest loss since May 7, 2024 on Friday. They came up short against the Riverview Raiders, falling 10-3. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Raiders from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

David Dillon made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 2-for-4. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Brian Firman was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Shady Side Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Riverview, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-1.

Coming up, Shady Side Academy will square off against South Park at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Riverview, they will welcome Apollo Ridge at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
