Basketball Recap: Avinger Comes Up Short

Avinger was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Saltillo Lions and fell 69-24. The Indians were not able to make up for their loss to the Lions from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

De'Angelo McIntrye was Avinger's leading scorer, having posted 11 points.

Avinger's defeat dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Saltillo, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-10.

Avinger will be playing at home against Avery at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Saltillo, they are taking a road trip to face off against Sulphur Bluff at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
