Baseball Recap: Saint Ignatius College Prep Gets the Win

Saint Ignatius College Prep got themselves on the board against Reavis on Wednesday, but Reavis never followed suit. They came out on top against the Rams by a score of 4-0.

The result came thanks to Owen Walsh's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jaiden Ponce, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. He has become a key player for Saint Ignatius College Prep: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least one home run, but 8-22 otherwise. Jacob Jelinek was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Saint Ignatius College Prep's victory bumped their record up to 12-23. As for Reavis, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 23-13 record this season.
