Basketball Recap: South Anchorage's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

South Anchorage can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They walked away with a 36-28 victory over the Eagle River Wolves. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Wolverines also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Gabby Palazzini and Beverly Reed certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Palazzini dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 boards, while Reed posted five points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. Reed is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last four games she's played.

South Anchorage picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 3-9. As for Eagle River, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-7.

South Anchorage has already played their next game (against Dimond), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Eagle River will face off against Bettye Davis East Anchorage at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
