Basketball Game Preview: Lake Holcombe Chieftains vs. Gilman Pirates

The Lake Holcombe Chieftains will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on the Gilman Pirates at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Lake Holcombe is coming home looking for redemption after taking a loss in their road opener. They lost 86-62 to Ladysmith on Monday.

Meanwhile, Gilman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against Flambeau, falling 86-44.

Lake Holcombe was able to grind out a solid victory over Gilman when the teams last played back in December of 2024, winning 51-43. Do the Chieftains have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pirates turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
