Baseball Recap: Greenwood Comes Up Short

Greenwood extended their losing streak to eight on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 4-15 in the process. They lost 11-3 to the Franklin Community Grizzly Cubs. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Grizzly Cubs this season, with their most recent loss being a 5-2 defeat on Thursday.

Ethan King was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and three RBI. He has become a key player for Greenwood: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least three RBI, but 2-14 otherwise.

As for Franklin Community, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games.
