Volleyball Recap: Edison Comes Up Short

Edison was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Bear Creek Bruins. The Vikings were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bruins earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

Edison started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 15-25, 25-23, 25-18, 25-21.

Rashad Lewis paced Edison's offense, picking up 18 kills. Lewis got some help from Jose Rios and his 34 assists. Zymir Johnson controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Edison's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 10-1 and their overall record down to 14-11. As for Bear Creek, their win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-4.

Edison has already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Weston Ranch on the 15th. As for Bear Creek, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Franklin on the 16th.
