Basketball Recap: West Hills Comes Up Short

West Hills was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 75-54 to the Point Loma Pointers. While losing is never fun, the Wolf Pack can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1033rd, while the Pointers are ranked 309th).

When it comes to explaining why West Hills lost, don't look at Malekai Dillon. Despite the final result, he went 7 of 17 on his way to 22 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Dalex Morris, who posted 12 points.

Trevor Dorris had a dynamite game for Point Loma, going 9 of 12 on his way to 21 points in addition to six boards and five assists. Another player making a difference was Grant Stewart, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 14 points and five rebounds.

West Hills' defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Point Loma, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-2.

West Hills didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 65-62 loss against Sweetwater on the 28th. As for Point Loma, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 66-43 victory against Granite Hills on the 28th.
