Softball Recap: White Pigeon Comes Up Short

White Pigeon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They fell 3-0 to the Bangor Vikings. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Chiefs of the 10-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

Mable Post spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on seven hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

White Pigeon's loss dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Bangor, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season.

White Pigeon will square off against Sturgis at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Bangor will be paying especially close attention to the Chiefs' game: after the Chiefs face off against the Trojans, they'll take on Bangor again at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
