Basketball Recap: Astoria Comes Up Short

Astoria suffered their closest defeat since December 2, 2023 on Saturday. They fell just short of the St. Helens Lions by a score of 48-46. The Fishermen were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lions earlier this season, when they won 44-17.

Astoria's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for St. Helens, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-4.

While Astoria had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
