Soccer Recap: Mingus Extends Winning Streak to Five

The matchup between Mingus and Goldwater on Monday hardly resembled the 0-0 effort from their previous meeting. Everything went the Mingus Marauders' way against the Goldwater Bulldogs as the Mingus Marauders made off with a 7-1 win. Fans of the Marauders have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 3+ goals.

They hit Goldwater with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Sophie Walter (5), Jaslyn Lopez, and Ashlynn Cooper.

The victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 38 goals over those five matchups. As for Goldwater, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Mingus will take on Agua Fria in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mingus knows how to get goals on the board -- the squad has finished with four goals or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Agua Fria likes a good challenge. Goldwater and South Mountain will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Goldwater is facing South Mountain at the right time seeing as South Mountain is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
