Basketball Game Preview: Purdue Polytechnic Techies vs. Lafayette Jefferson Bronchos

The Purdue Polytechnic Techies will head out to challenge the Lafayette Jefferson Bronchos at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Purdue Polytechnic will head into Saturday's matchup out to bounce back: they won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Saturday. They were outmatched by Cathedral and fell 93-38. The Techies haven't had much luck with the Fighting Irish recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Despite their loss, Purdue Polytechnic saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Damion Green, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards, was perhaps the best of all. James Long Jr. was another key player, going 7 of 15 on his way to 15 points.

Meanwhile, Lafayette Jefferson entered their tilt with Kokomo on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They slipped by the Wildkats 48-47.

Purdue Polytechnic's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Lafayette Jefferson, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.

Purdue Polytechnic was able to grind out a solid victory over Lafayette Jefferson in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, winning 70-63. The rematch might be a little tougher for Purdue Polytechnic since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
