Basketball Recap: Brookfield East's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Brookfield East hadn't done well against Brookfield Central recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Brookfield East Spartans walked away with a 63-53 victory over the Brookfield Central Lancers. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 21st, while the Lancers are ranked 90th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win (which was Brookfield East's fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.8 points per game. As for Brookfield Central, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brookfield East and Sun Prairie East will round out the year against one another at at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Brookfield Central, they will take on Sheboygan North at 3:15 p.m. on December 28th.
