Basketball Recap: Minneapolis South Takes a Loss

Minneapolis South was the 62-61 winner over St. Thomas Academy when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Minneapolis South Tigers were outmatched by the St. Thomas Academy Cadets and fell 81-50. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 284th, while the Cadets are ranked 86th).

Minneapolis South has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for St. Thomas Academy, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Minneapolis South will host North at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. Thomas Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Two Rivers at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Two Rivers' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests.
