Norwalk hasn't had much luck against New Canaan recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Norwalk Bears will square off against the New Canaan Rams at 7:00 p.m. Both are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Norwalk is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Bridgeport Central, posting a 48-8 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Bears as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Norwalk to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mason Riina, who threw for 66 yards and two touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. What's more, Riina also racked up 23 rushing yards, the most he's had since back in September of 2023. Another back making a difference was Jayden Diaz, who rushed for 68 yards and a touchdown on only five carries.

Norwalk didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Kevin Gordon, Nick Monteiro, and Nazaiah Grant picked up one apiece.

Meanwhile, New Canaan had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Warriors 32-0. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won three contests by 29 points or more so far this season.

New Canaan relied on the efforts of Henry Stein, who rushed for 122 yards and a touchdown, and Luke Robinson, who punched in a rushing score.

New Canaan wouldn't let Wilton keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force three fumbles. It was truly a group effort as Grayson Ladley, Mikey Hiraman, and Andrew Esposito picked up one apiece. New Canaan got some further help from Will Sullivan: he made eight total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defended a pass in addition to snagging an interception which he returned one-yard for a touchdown.

Norwalk's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for New Canaan, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Norwalk was taken down by New Canaan 51-8 in their previous matchup back in October of 2023. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Norwalk was down 48-8.
