Softball Recap: William Allen Canaries vs. Whitehall Zephyrs
William Allen had lost 13 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 0-15 to make it 14. They came up short against the Whitehall Zephyrs, falling 16-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Zephyrs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-0 on April 3rd.
Natalia Rodriguez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and earned one run and three stolen bases.
As for Whitehall, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. The result was nothing new for Whitehall, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.
On Whitehall's side, the team relied heavily on Josie Shultz, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave Shultz a new career-high. Nya Brown also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
