Michael Newton gave up the fewest earned runs he has since back in February on Tuesday. He did his part (and then some), not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched for the 'W'. He has become a key player for Medina Valley: the team is undefeated when he allows at most three hits, but 5-6 otherwise.

Newton's effort led Medina Valley over Alexander and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Medina Valley will be headed into this one with a sizable disadvantage in the rankings (they're ranked 284 places lower in Texas), but they're not letting that get them down.
