Basketball Recap: Belfry Takes a Loss

Belfry was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 69-52 to the Prestonsburg Blackcats. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 50-26 back in December of 2024.

Belfry's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Prestonsburg, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-10.

Belfry has already played their next matchup (against Bath County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Prestonsburg will challenge Betsy Layne at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Prestonsburg's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight contests.
