Basketball Recap: Marietta's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

Marietta was the 55-45 winner over Woodstock when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Blue Devils took a hard 62-48 fall against the Wolverines on Monday. The loss put an end to the Blue Devils' undefeated start to the season.

Jahmar Maurice had another great game (as he tends to do), going 10-for-17 en route to 31 points and six steals for Woodstock. That makes it three consecutive games in which Maurice has scored at least a third of the Wolverines' points. Jalen Graham was another key player, putting up nine points and three steals.

Having lost for the first time this season, Marietta fell to 2-1. As for Woodstock, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Coming up, Marietta will be playing at home against Wheeler at 7:30 p.m. on December 2. The game will give the Blue Devils their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Woodstock, they and Roswell will face off at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest, having both just played. The Wolverines will be up against the Hornets' rather soft defense (which has allowed 53 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
